Jennifer Lott
JENNIFER LOTT is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She is thrilled to be teaching Gyrokinesis® at Steps, as she knows first-hand the incredible benefits this work can have for dancers. She is a certified Gyrotonic® instructor, trained extensively under Master Trainers Jennifer Daly, Chantal Deeble, Sebastian Plettenberg and Leda Franklin.
Jennifer received her BFA in Ballet Performance with an Outside Field in Journalism from the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, IN. She moved to Cleveland, OH in 2001 to become a founding member of Inlet Dance Theatre, a company that focuses heavily on outreach to at-risk youth. In 2004, she joined GroundWorks Dancetheater, where she originated roles in works by artistic director David Shimotakahara, KT Niehoff, Lynn Deering and Amy Miller. Since relocating to the East coast in 2007, Jennifer has appeared with Armitage Gone! Dance, Eglevsky Ballet, Terra Firma Dance, and Boheme Opera New Jersey. JenniferŐs performance credits include works by George Balanchine, Anne-Marie DeAngelo, Violette Verdy, Steve Rooks, Stuart Loungeway, Bill Wade and Randy James and as well as works set by Edward Villela, Susan Pilar, Susan Jones, and Leslie Peck. Her own choreography has been performed as part of Chen Dance CenterŐs spring 2008 Newsteps series, in concerts with Terra Firma Dance and Inlet Dance Theatre, and at numerous venues throughout Northeast Ohio. Most recently, she premiered a multi-media collaboration with composer Son Lux at the Southern Theater in Minneapolis, MN, on a split bill with composer Nico Muhly. Her short dance films have been seen in festivals in New York, Germany, Brazil, and Boston, MA.
