Luis Salgado
Luis Salgado has worked as a dancer with renowned Latin artists such as Paulina Rubio, Thalíla,
Yerba Buena, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Olga Tañon, and many others. Currently, he is performing in the
new Broadway musical, In the Heights. Other musical theater dance credits include: The Mambo Kings
and Fame on 42nd Street. Theater awards include: BroadwayWorld.com's Gypsy of the Month; Drama Desk Award-Outstanding Ensemble, In the Heights.
As a choreographer, Luis most recently created the dance for the musical Serenade in NYC and co-directed/ choreographed
the original show Mezcla in Peru. Other choreography includes The Drop Outs, Starting Today, Power and Passion. Luis has
put his style into industrials, musicals, casino shows, live stage performances, film, television and numerous recording
artists. He assisted Maria Torres in the film Enchanted; Jamal Sims in the film Step Up 2 and is the Latin Assistant Choreographer
in the musical hit, In The Heights, that earned the Drama Desk, Lucille Lortel and Outer Critics Award in 2007 for Outstanding
Choreography under the hand of Andy Blankenbuehler.
In film, he was the dance double for Diego Luna in Dirty Dancing 2 Havana Night. Other films credit includes American Gangster,
The Great Observer, Enchanted, Across the Universe and played Alejandro in the new film Step Up 2 the Streets.
Luis co-produced his own DVD "Latin Fusion with Luis Salgado." He is the Director of R.Evolución Latina "Dare to go Beyond!";
an artistic movement that celebrates the lives, careers, triumphs and existence of all Latino Artists in and out of the New York Performing
Art Community. This exciting and very promising new movement brings Latin Artists together in the hopes of continuing to demonstrate their
talents through professional and high quality exposition to a broad audience. Luis strongly believes that everything is possible. If you
