The Steps on Broadway Academy’s Pre-Professional Division offers intensive training for aspiring young dancers in an environment that fosters artistic excellence, technical strength, and a strong sense of community. Students in this program engage in a rigorous and diverse dance curriculum designed to prepare them for the demands of the dance industry.

Graduates emerge with the skills, discipline, and versatility needed to continue their training at top college dance programs and conservatories, or to launch professional careers in concert dance, commercial work, and on Broadway.

Comprehensive Program

Comprehensive: The Comprehensive Program is a rigorous, multi-disciplinary training track for dancers seeking depth, versatility, and a fully immersive pre-professional experience. Beginning in the Preparatory Levels A and B and progressing through Advanced Levels C and D, students train across Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Theater Dance, and Modern (Horton and Graham-based techniques), building a broad technical foundation alongside artistic and performance development. Advanced dancers participate in the Steps Academy Ensemble, rehearsing weekly with faculty and guest choreographers, and engage in semester-based Artist-in-Residence intensives with leading NYC companies. With a structured, full-week schedule and consistent performance opportunities, the Comprehensive Program is designed for committed dancers preparing for collegiate or professional pathways.

Select Study Program

Select Study: The Select Study Program offers a flexible, customizable training model for serious dancers who wish to concentrate on specific disciplines while maintaining a high level of technical rigor. From a focused Classical Ballet track with dedicated Pointe and Variations training to a broader individualized course of study across multiple styles, dancers build schedules aligned with their goals, availability, and areas of strength. Advanced students train in a selective environment that emphasizes precision, artistry, and performance, with opportunities for faculty-invited experiences such as Pas de Deux and Ballet Repertory classes. This program is particularly suited for dancers balancing intensive training with academic demands or professional engagements, while still pursuing advanced-level development.
