Jillian Stevens

Jillian Stevens is a trained dancer, actor and singer. She graduated with a BA in Theatre from Hunter College and has performed at reputable venues across the city including: Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, The Lion Theatre (Theatre Row), The Kaye Playhouse, The Gallery Players & The Frederick Loewe. Jillian started her training at The School at Steps at age four, where she studied Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theatre, and Hip-Hop with her mentors. At age twelve, she began assisting tap classes for The School at Steps' Pre-Professional Program; allowing her to develop a keen eye for the nuances in tap dancing. Because of this, she was able to design a very specific approach in offering analogies and critiques, leading to richer and more pristine sounds for the tapper. Inspired by her students, she sought to widen her repertoire and began assisting jazz classes. Today, she teaches private tap lessons, teen jazz and is a choreographer. In addition, Jillian received her 200-hour Yoga certification and AntiGravity Fundamentals certification from Studio ANYA. She is currently in the midst of receiving her 300-hour Yoga certification.

Jillian firmly believes that dance is an endless, rigorous study; but also a celebration of life that will set you free. Keep moving, listening to the music, feeling the world around you, and following what you love- that is what the artist does. She thanks her family for the endless support and belief.
