Have the post Holiday blues? Take a dance class and feel your spirits lift! When you dance or participate in other forms of exercise your body releases chemicals called endorphins, which are responsible for the good feeling that you are left with after you take a dance class. So if you are feeling stressed out, or if you are having a bad day, moving your body might be the only thing you need to turn your mood around!
Exercise Helps to:
- Reduce Stress
- Reduce anxiety
- Reduce feelings of depression
- Boost self esteem
- Improve sleep
Healthy Tip: If you took a Holiday break from dancing start back slow! Don’t push too hard too fast. Work your way back into shape slowly to prevent injury.
- If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.
- The average person laughs 13 times a day.
- The term stress was first employed in a biological context by the endocrinologist Hans Selye in the 1930s.
