Luke Muscat
Luke Muscat is a doctoral student in the faculty of education at the University of Calgary. He holds a Master's of Science in Education from Bank Street College of Education, a bachelor's degree from Athabasca University, and was a scholarship student at The Ailey School.

His performance highlights include Alvin Ailey's Memoria with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at New York City Center Theater, Matthew Rushing's In the Void at the Park Avenue Armory, and The Saint Vincent Project with the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater.

In addition to his work at Steps Youth Programs, Luke has been a teaching artist with The Mark Morris Dance Group, The Ailey School Junior Division, Ailey Arts in Education, and The New York City Ballet Education Department. Luke founded the lower school dance program at The Hewitt School, a Manhattan independent school, where he currently teaches first grade in addition to dance.

Luke has served as a guest writer for the NDEO and his peer-reviewed article, "The Weight of Words: A Message to Dance Educators, Caregivers, and Members of Society," was published in Dance Education in Practice. An adapted version of his Master's thesis, "The Effects of Parent-Toddler Movement Class on Attachment Patterns," is also in peer-review. Luke is certified in Primary through Level 3 of the ABT National Training Curriculum, the Autism Movement Therapy Method, was a trainee at the Marquis Studios Teaching Artist Training Institute, and holds an Early Childhood Education Certification from the Government of Alberta.
