Luke Muscat
Luke Muscat is thrilled to be on faculty at The School at Steps as the co-director and teacher for the For Boys Only program and as the ballet teacher for Preparatory 3 in the pre-professional division. Luke received his early dance training at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada and later as a scholarship student at The Ailey School. His performance highlights include performing with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Alvin Ailey's Memoriaat New York City Center Theater, Matthew Rushing's In The Void at the Park Avenue Armory, and The Saint Vincent Project: Novenas for a Lost Hospital with the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. Luke is a four-time Individual Project Dance Grant Award recipient from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and has been featured in The Times of Malta, The Malta Independent, The Edmonton Jewish News, Dance Informa, and NY Metro Parents.

In addition to his work at Steps, Luke is on the ballet and creative movement faculties at both the Ailey School Junior Division and the School at the Mark Morris Dance Center and is the lower school dance educator at The Hewitt School, an all-girl independent school. As a teaching artist with the Mark Morris Dance Group, New York City Ballet Education Department, and Alvin Ailey Arts in Education, Luke brings the joy of dance into public, charter, and special need schools throughout New York City. Furthermore, Luke is a certified teacher for Primary through Level 3 of the ABT National Training Curriculum, the Autism Movement Therapy Method, and received a specialized education in teaching movement to children on the Autism spectrum as a trainee with the Marquis Studios Teachers Training Institute.

Currently, Luke is earning his Master's of Science in Education from Bank Street College of Education. At Bank Street, Luke's educational and research focuses include early childhood education, infant and early child development, and movement curricula. Through his in-depth practical knowledge of child development and learning milestones, Luke creates an encouraging and positive atmosphere for his students to achieve their best potential.
