Programs Run Monday-Friday

Session I

Week 1: July 8 – July 12    |    Week 2: July 15 – July 19    |    Week 3: July 22 – July 26

Session II

Week 4: July 29 – August 2    |    Week 5: August 5 – August 9    |    Week 6: August 12 – August 16

The deadline to submit a video audition is June 1st.

The Summer Intensives offer comprehensive training from Steps on Broadway’s core faculty members with rotating guest teachers. All weeks conclude with studio showings. Training for those students who enroll specifically in the following three consecutive weeks, July 8—July 26 or July 29—August 16, culminates in a final performance.

Steps Youth Programs’ Summer Intensive helps students:

  • Cultivate personal artistry
  • Build self-confidence

STEPS recommends a minimum 3-week intensive session in order to receive the greatest instructional benefit.

Session I – includes weeks 1,2 and 3 with a special performance at the end
Session II – includes weeks 4,5 and 6 with a special performance at the end

OR-
Students may attend individual weeks or any combination of weeks. For example, students may opt for week 1,2 and 5.

Junior Intensive (ages 9-12)

  • Diversified daily instruction with classes from 9am-6pm, with the choice to leave at 4pm
  • Morning technique classes in ballet, contemporary, modern
  • Afternoon classes in diverse styles including theater dance, hip hop, jazz, and tap (see sample schedule below)
  • Classes with guest choreographers and instructors
  • Daily rehearsal
  • Option to choose any combination of weeks
  • Students are selected through an in-person or video audition (see audition information below for details).

Teen Intensive (ages 12-15)

  • Diversified daily instruction with classes from 9am-6pm
  • Morning technique classes in ballet, contemporary, modern
  • Afternoon classes in diverse styles including theater dance, hip hop, jazz, and tap (see sample schedule below)
  • Classes with Guest choreographers and instructors
  • Daily rehearsal for final studio showing
  • Career-related seminars
  • Option to choose any combination of weeks
  • Students are selected through an in-person or online video audition (see audition information below for details).

Senior Intensive (ages 15-18)

  • Diversified daily instruction with classes from 9am-6pm

Audition Info

Onsite auditions have ended. The deadline to submit a video audition is June 1st.
Whether you are auditioning onsite or through a video, a complete application must be submitted through the website, Acceptd.

Acceptd Application Instructions:

  1. Select Junior, Teen, or Senior Intensive under programs
  2. Choose either live/video audition
  3. If auditioning live through Steps onsite program audition, a completed application must be submitted before the audition date
  4. Video applications must be no longer than 6 minutes in length and include:
    1. Demonstration of Technical Proficiency
      • Adagio
      • Petit Allegro
      • Grand Allegro
    2. Combination or Video of Chosen Discipline

Registration & Tuition

Registration & Tuition

To secure your place in the program, a completed registration form with a $250 non-refundable deposit and a $35 non-refundable registration fee is due. Final payment and all forms must be received by June 1, 2019 for registration to be considered complete. Registrations are processed in the order of which they are received. Late replies will be placed on a wait list.

Your registration package includes all pertinent information on the Intensives as well as list of suggested hotels and dorms in the area.

Refunds:

  • Summer Intensive Tuition is non-refundable
  • There are no refunds for missed classes
