Enhance your training this summer at the Steps Youth Pre-Professional Program. Chose to attend a single week, multiple weeks, or any combination of weeks.
Featuring diverse class offerings, illustrious faculty, and a location in the heart of the New York City dance scene, the Steps Youth Pre-Professional Summer Intensive is an elite program for enhancing your dance training this summer. The program consists of five individual weeks, offering dancers ages 10-18 the opportunity to strengthen their technique and cultivate personal artistry in an exciting, challenging, and nurturing environment. Dancers may choose to take any combination of the 5 individual weeks to best meet their needs and goals.
Each week, dancers will engage in a variety of styles with Steps’ iconic faculty and guest teachers. Learn from masters such as Diversity of Dance founder, Earl Mosely and former American Ballet Theater Principal, Leslie Brown, and learn iconic repertoire from American Dance Machine for the 21st Century and Paul Taylor. Participants are surrounded by aspiring dancers who work with each other to develop friendships and connections to last a lifetime.
A day in the life of a Steps Youth Pre-Professional Summer Intensive student begins with technique classes designed to challenge the dancer while enhancing foundational technique. Afterward, dancers will take a variety of stylized classes to develop versatility, technique, and performance. Towards the end of the day, dancers will learn a piece of choreography from a guest choreographer in a repertory workshop. At the end of each week, dancers will perform in a special studio performance.
