THE YOUTH DIVISION

Home for dancers to explore their passion in an enriching curriculum.

The Youth Division offers students ages 7-18 an enriching curriculum that allows them to explore their passion for dance under the direction of our world-renowned faculty. Whether a student elects to take one class or more, we are fully invested in creating a rich learning experience that promotes artistic excellence, strong technique and sense of community.

This program culminates in an end-of-year performance for friends and family.

Our dress code is designed to prepare our students for success in class. It allows them to
fully focus on their work in the studio, while providing instructors with a clear perspective
on their alignment. Arriving in proper attire creates an atmosphere of professionalism and
community while providing an opportunity to demonstrate respect for faculty and craft.

HAIR
Dancers’ hair should be worn in a classical bun or pinned, clipped, and tied securely away
from the face. No loose or dangling jewelry is allowed in class.

Steps on Broadway partners with all of the dance manufactures here in NYC and each offers a generous discount to Steps on Broadway Academy students. You can find the required styles at On Stage Dancewear, Bloch, Capezio, and in the Steps Shop on the 3rd Floor or online at shop.stepsnyc.com.

Tap:

Jazz/Theater:

UNDERGARMENTS

For young dancers, regular underwear is fine. As dancers get older we want to minimize the visibility of lines under leotards and tights and recommend a neutral colored seam free brief or dance belt.

2025-2026 Tuition

Other Fees:
Annual Registration Fee: $80 (valid Sept – Aug)
Performance Fee: $80 per class
Costume Fee: $75 per class
Note: All additional items will appear as “Registration Fee” on the checkout screen

Registration Requirements

  1. All classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis
  2. All registrations will be done online. We will not be accepting mailed forms or checks.

  • From the home page of the Parent Portal, click Register for Classes
  • Select the program you are interested in
    • Youth Division (Ages 7-18)
  • Check the box next to each class to enroll then press Submit at the bottom of thepage
    • Note: Students taking 4 or more hours per week receive a volume discount which applies on the checkout page
  • Finish registration and payment to receive a confirmation email
    • If you are in need of a monthly payment plan, please email sara@stepsnyc.com to request one

Registration is not considered final until payment has been processed.

Refunds
Prior to Sept. 8, 2025 – 90% Refund of Tuition
Sept. 8, 2025 to Jan. 26, 2026 – 50% Refund of Tuition
After Jan 26, 2026 – No Refunds Granted
